After taking delivery of the vehicle we had the job of inspecting the vehicle and making sure the car was in the correct condition ready for PPF and Ceramic Coatings.
The dealer prep wasn’t too bad but there were holograms found on various panels which we had to rectify along with a lot of polish residue which we needed to remove. There was some form of ceramic coating present on the vehicle which we had to remove prior to us installing our paint protection film. If you apply the PPF over the top of ceramic coated paintwork the bond can be weak and allow for the film to lift when washing. Once the paintwork was up to our standard we proceeded to start the PPF process.
When we start the process of PPF we remove all the badges on the vehicle with the customers approval. This is so when we install the PPF we can hide as many edges so there won’t be an outline around the badges and once the film is on we reapply the badge. We then adapt all the Xpel patterns to allow for more wraps and extensions and then proceed to cut all of the film on our plotter ready for the install.
We applied full coverage of Xpel Paint Protection Film to the 750S protecting the paintwork. This was a very extensive kit which covered all the paintwork and gloss black features on the car. We also installed PPF to the carbon tub/door sill which gets scuffed getting in and out.
Stek Windscreen protection film was applied to the front windscreen, depending on how you are using the vehicle it might be more beneficial to some than others but being a expensive McLaren screen the customer opted to protect it.
The wheels were removed, decontaminated and then ceramic coated using Titan Coatings Pyro which is a wheel specific coating. The callipers were also coated whilst the wheels were off. The wheels were then refitted and torqued back up to spec.
The remaining body work and all of the PPF were protected with various Titan Ceramic Coatings.
